This painting illustrates the path to the cemetery in the rural community of el Huizache, Sultepec Edo. de México. On September 18, 2022, we laid my cousin Norma Lisett Martínez Rodríguez to rest there. She had passed away in a car accident two days earlier. The day of the funeral it rained all day until the moment she was put to rest. The clouds were different shades of blue and gray. It was a quiet moment of reflection and I was there to witness it. When we buried my cousin Norma, a part of my heart stayed there with her. She was like a sister to me and my biggest fan. This painting is a love letter to heaven, for Norma.
