Los Guardianes de la Baja, 2021
Solo show featuring Perro y Arena by Sócrates M Medina
Opens online Saturday, June 26, 2021 *3p PST
'Los Guardianes de la Baja' (Protectors of Baja California) is a collection created in homage to the natural beauty of the flora and fauna of Baja California. The animals depicted are endemic to these areas or depend on it for shelter, survival and reproduction.
It’s also inspired by the work of projects like the Mexican non-profit organization Terra Peninsular who take the role as guardians to protect and conserve the beautiful ecosystem of Baja California. The organization has protected more than 130,000 acres of natural areas in Ensenada, San Quintin, Sierra de San Pedro Mártir and El Rosario. They continue to create safe habitats for the many endangered plants and animals of the region.
