So happy to offer works from Buenos Aires, Argentina duo Karina Firpo and Diego Cano. This pair has created hundreds of unique jewelry pieces and decorative arts for Cactus Gallery since its inception in 2005.
Works are created from German silver (called alpaca In South America) and formed using a hammer and soldered with silver.
The posts on the earrings and the chains are hypoallergenic (stainless steel).
The leather/suede necklaces have a handmade closure.
German silver when used in the creating jewelry resembles sterling silver but does not contain silver, rather it is an alloy mixture of copper, zinc and nickel. It is a hard, strong and a very durable metal combination that wears exceptionally well. My alpaca jewelry is 20 years old.
