Cactus Gallery LA

BAD WATER (DEATH VALLEY) by artist Leigh Cabell

$ 300.00

Media: chip bag, mailers, calendars, envelopes, a mylar balloon, quilting thread and beads

Framed and under museum glass to 10 x 10"

Also attached are images of materials used and in-progress images.

About the process: Once Leigh collects, cuts and decides on placement of the materials, she holds the items in place with T-pins to form the landscape. She then uses quilting thread and beads to secure each piece in place.

About Leigh's 'Nature Scapes' series: This piece is part of a continuation of her National Park concept, but for other subjects ranging from magnified images of minerals to mountain landscapes.  She is exploring this new way of creating images with a variety of unwanted materials (e.g. chip bags and coffee bags). All of her work uses the material as they come to her. She does not paint or change the color of these items in any way. It is her hope that you will look at our world in a more Eco-friendly way.
