SACRED BORDERLANDS by artist Michelle Waters
$ 300.00
Acrylic on wood, 12” x 9”
Via the artist: For this piece, I was thinking about all the wildlife that will be harmed by a border wall. Jaguars used to roam all over the Southwest, and they still go back and forth over the border in the Sonoran Desert in Arizona. They still could recolonize in the U.S., but a border wall will likely cause them to be completely extinct here, because Jaguars and people crossing to the U.S. use the same mountains to cross. Jaguars are one of thousands of plant and animals species that will be affected by a border wall.
