MOON THOUGHTS, STAR DREAMS by artist Ulla Anobile
Paper mache, driftwood, acrylics, 10" tall (measured from tallest point to bottom of neck), 12" wide
A friend sent me a package of driftwood all the way from Canada. Already sanded by water, and always interestingly shaped, pieces of driftwood pretty much tell me what to do next. Here, the driftwood neck of the mask inspired the rest. The title is a little cryptic: is she dreaming of becoming a star, or is she occupied by cosmic thoughts and the big questions of life? You decide.
The Moon symbol at the bottom, with the 3 'moon drops', is supposed to mean 'blessing'. The red dot on top symbolizes 'lifeblood.'
