BLUMENHOLDE (Lady of the Meadow) by artist Alexandra Lukaschewitz
Crepe paper, wire & glass beads, 6" tall (15 cm), in a 8" x 4" (20 x 10 cm) glass dome
"Blumenholde" is the Lady of the Meadow. In the story she only has a short mention as the illustrious wife of Mr. Wiesawittl who is the ruler of the meadow so I liked to see her come to life...
As a kid I grew up in the Bavarian Alps and besides the forest, wild growing meadows always had a special fascination for me. With all their little inhabitants to watch and sometimes also catch.
'Wiesawittl & Blumenholde' is part of Franz Xaver von Schönwerth's collection of Bavarian folktales.
