The Chinese Huli Jing - literally “fox spirit” - is a powerful shape shifter. Tales describe her as a beautiful woman - one who can bewitch men, lead them astray and ultimately destroy them. Through her craftiness, she was known for taking a mortal mans “Yang” - or essence - to achieve strength and immortality.
