BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN aka "You’re Not the Boss of Me Frank!" by artist Linda Lyons
BRIDE is sculpted in Ladoll Premix Paperclay with a galvanized steel frame wrapped in cotton batting. After that Linda sews a stretch cotton fabric and stuffs the body further in areas that need more filling. Her limbs are sculpted in Paperclay and her boots are sculpted in polymer clay. Her hair is made of Tibetan lambs wool over a stuffed fabric to get the structure of the hair. Some of her clothes are vintage fabric and lace. She has fabric roses on the sides of her dress. She is painted with acrylic paint and soft pastels and sealed with a matte varnish. Her eyes are acrylic and sealed with 3D crystal lacquer. Frankenstein's head is sculpted in Paperclay with resin eyes made by Yovanka Black. The bolts in his neck are jewelry pins and findings. She is 24" long from the top of her head to her boots and 7" wide from arm to arm. She is gently posable and her head turns. There is a wire loop on her upper back so that she can be hung on the wall.
Via the artist: I decided to create Bride of Frankenstein because at the end of the movie, she did not submit to the monster. To me she symbolizes a strong woman who does what she wants and is her own boss. She does things her way and is defiant to those who try to stop her. If you get her angry...watch out (as Frank found out)!!! She's a little piece of me especially if someone tells me I can't do something.
