Lotus are a well loved and popular subject in Korean art. They often symbolize creation of life, reproduction, happiness, and prosperity. I connected with this in celebration of Cactus Gallery’s birthday. The subject looks back at memories but is wrapped and surrounded by the lotus symbolizing what has blossomed now and the budding prospects of what is to come.
