About the piece: I think music is the thing that gets so many of us through the good times, the bad times, the stress, the sadness, the breakups.  Whatever the emotion there is a song out there for you.   

Bowie spanned so many decades, so many characters and wrote so many iconic songs, plus is a fellow Brit – he was my obvious choice to represent music, plus I’ve never met a person who didn’t love Bowie, he is a pop art chameleon. 

I called the piece ‘Pretty in Pink’ as a homage to 80s movies which is my other go to to deal with the stresses of life, I have a huge nostalgia for and affinity with all things 80s, that decade is my happy place, and so I picked 80s Bowie as that’s my favourite incarnation of him of course J Magic Dance anyone?
