OWL DREAM JAR by artist Mark Cantrell of Wood Creatures NM

This jar is made from Cholla finished on each end with mahogany.  The owl is carved from Tulip Poplar and acts as a lid to the tiny jar. 

The jar is made to hold your hopes and dreams, and the owl acts as a protector to keep them safe. 5" tall

Mark lives and creates in Silver City, New Mexico. He carves and makes creatures that come from the scattered myths, ancient stories, and dark corners of our collective minds.

Mark forages for wood on dog walks and hikes into the outdoors where I lives and where he travels. The wood that becomes a creature is Mark's earnest attempt to glorify all that experience of the parent plant, while exalting the spirit that dwells within each piece.
