Mixed media art doll, 16” tall

MARIA symbolizes maternal love and protection. She spends her days cherishing her baby, collecting flowers and crosses, and praying for those she has lost.

MARIA is sculpted with stone clay over a vintage turquoise cage. Maria's hair is black wool roving and decorated with paper flowers and different kind of beads. Her dress is made from a flowered fabric and flowered lace. Maria is holding her little baby and a basket full of flowers. The basket is decorated with crosses and skull beads.

Inside of her cage you will find a stone clay sculpted sugar skull. The skull measures 5" tall. It can be display inside or outside of the cage. Maria, her baby and the sugar skull are painted with acrylics and sealed with matte varnish.
