The uninhibited freedoms, innocence, imagination we had as children is something I love to remember. I believe I draw on this string of thought a lot in many of my art pieces.

With "Sourgrass And Fortune" I wanted to depict the excitement of play and interaction of youth as well as provoking curiosity. Have you ever eaten sour grass? Who hasn't? I learned to eat these tangy weeds from my friends in early grade school. What a discovery it was when I realized they were edible!

In my piece, the two little beings emerge from their world into ours ready to play an old time game with their handmade origami fortune teller; it's your turn to pick a color.
