The soul can be a toy, fossil, photograph or anything small enough to fit inside the plush. Koi were the artist’s first art plushes and are inspired by Japanese koinobori. She adores the design of these koi flags, but also the mythical story of perseverance and hope that have made them a symbol of strength and grit.
