NOSTALGIA by artist Myriam Powell

Nostalgia is made of stone clay, light peach ribbon, golden sequins ribbon, blonde mohair, watercolor paper and wire.

She is painted with acrylics and sealed with matte finish.

The little signs coming out of the chimney read "friendships", "memories" and "family". The wire and signs are removable. The heart (made of stone clay and ribbon) can go in the home as well and reads "home".

Having come from Colombia to the US 21 years ago, it’s impossible to not miss my roots. As I grow older I find myself reflecting on those fond memories that forged the person I am.
Nostalgia represents those things I hold dear in my heart. My family there, all the unforgettable memories growing up, the lessons I learned and those everlasting friendships that I treasure.
