Legends of dangerous, wailing swamp women are found in many places. They've been told by Native American tribes, in various Eastern European countries, and of course in the Louisiana swamplands. Swamps are eerie, dangerous places, with a unique haunting beauty. They are also vital to the ecosystem, and need to be judiciously preserved, not destroyed.
