This bookmark is made of German silver (alpaca) and was formed with a hammer (hand forged) and soldered with silver, 6.75” long. The bookmark clasps into the page and holds your spot for you.
Created in Buenos Aires, Argentina by artisan couple Karina Firpo and Diego Cano. This duo has been creating art pieces for Cactus Gallery since 2004.
German silver when used in the creation of jewelry and art objects resembles sterling silver. It does not contain silver, rather it is an alloy mixture of copper, zinc and nickel. It is a strong and very durable metal combination that wears exceptionally well. My alpaca jewelry and art objects are 20 years old.
