LOUISE by artist Valerie Savarie
Altered book, acryla gouache, acrylic, thread, 3"w x 4"h x .25"d
Book used: A Tillyloss Scandal by J.M. Barrie
This piece, and the story below, was inspired by Valerie's momma, Anita Louise Judy. With it being the year of the rabbit, and her momma LOVES rabbits, each one of the bunnies was named after her and includes parts of her personality.
The Hares of Dover are a trio of inseparable best friends Anita, Louise and Judy. They enjoy early morning walks in the springtime when the grasses are covered in dew. They bake the best carrot bread topped with their own churned butter - both of which have won many a blue ribbon at the county fair.
Not fans of the hot summer days, they venture out at dusk and skinny dip by moonlight in the spring fed pond near their home.
As the sun sets in the fall, they gather around their fireplace, drink hot cocoa and put together puzzles until there are only embers left in the fire.
Winter is spent planning what gardens they will plant in the spring with an occasional snowball fight followed by a warming of the fire.
Shown in last image with its sisters (sold separately).
