H is for Haunted House (Granny Still Lives Here) by artist Gioconda Pieracci of Pupillae Art Dolls
$ 470.00
Mixed media, 9.5 x 7”
Base diameter: 7”
This piece was inspired by a character from the fairy tales Gio’s grandfather used to tell her when she was a child.
In one of those tales, the protagonist comes across a heap of rags lying in his path. But beneath the tattered cloth lies a little old woman with magical powers, a mysterious creature somewhere between a ghost and a witch.
Some characters never really leave us. They simply wait in the shadows of our memories, until one day they find their way back into our lives.

She creates dolls and sculptures by mixing different materials, preferring those that have an intrinsic warmth such as wool and felt, wood and wood pulp, paper and paper clay.
