BABY OWL CAMOUFLAGED BY WALLPAPER by artist Lydia Moon Hee Kim
Acrylic and colored pencil on canvas, 12” x 12”
Whether animals are wild or domesticated, being cute is just not enough to survive in this manmade world. Often cute and small can be seeing as fragile, thus animals need to be smarter, faster and stronger in order to coexist with humans. Animals learn and adopt the ways of humans to survive.
In these camouflage themed paintings, I chose to disguise a baby owl and a baby miniature pig to show how they have adapted to the environment in order to survive this manmade world. I used my experience of textile design for floral patterned background in this painting.
