About the piece: "Abracadabra!" was inspired by my neighbor Bobby the raccoon, who lives in our shed and often cavorts on our deck, to the amazement of our cats. Raccoons are super smart so it seems only logical that they would also practice magic. The raccoon's friend is a saw-whet owl, also native to where I live in the Santa Cruz Mountains. I've never seen either animal wear a pentacle, but just because I haven't seen that doesn't mean it's not true.
