This piece is an homage to Grizzly bear 399, a renowned and beloved grizzly who lived in Grand Teton National Park. She tragically passed away on 10/22/24, after being struck by a car. She was a celebrated figure in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem, known for raising 18 cubs and becoming a symbol of successful grizzly bear conservation. Her death sparked an outpouring of grief and reflection on the importance of coexistence between humans and bears.
