About the piece:
With a love for both cinema and live theater, I've nabbed these items and made a mini Castro Theater, which is currently closed for renovations.

Built in 1922, it's first screening was Across the Continent, a movie now lost. The last movie it screened before closing in 2024 for renovations, was Victor/Victoria.

There's a rumor that one of the Lumieré brother's first films about a train pulling into the station, frightening the audience so much, that some ran to the back of the theatre! It is a rumor though, which is why this rowdy crowd of wild parrots are mostly enjoying a Buster Keaton inspired parrot trying to rescue the Mabel Norman inspired parrot damsel tied to the tracks!

This little tribute to the Castro theater will have to do until the doors open again and I can be transported to another cinematic adventure.
