This painting is dedicated to the hope that we can save both the Southern Resident Orcas of Puget Sound and the Monarch Butterflies. Both iconic species are in danger of extinction.
The Monarchs have had a population crash in the last several years and are threatened by pesticides, development and climate change.
The orcas population has dropped to just 75, and are starving due to lack of salmon and also affected by water pollution.
Michelle will be donating part of the proceeds from art sales to Sea Shepherd and Turtle Island Restoration Network.
