This piece is based on the character “Electra” from the movie Nightmare Alley, 2021. She works in a sideshow and performs a stunt where she appears to absorb electricity.
An earlier version came out in 1947. Her character was based on various sideshow attractions where the performer would use Tesla coils to produce large dangerous electrical arcs that would stun crowds.
