“Enkindling” is my interpretation of the “El Sol” Loteria card. In this painting I depict a figure illuminated by the celestial sun, which she holds in her lap. We associate the sun with the restorative power of warmth and light. It is our campfire in the night and sustains life itself. Just as the sun supports growth and new life, so does our own resilience and spirit.
