Shape Shifter by artist Kat Anderson
$ 300.00
My children are half Native American and are tribal members with the Squaxin Island Tribe in Washington State. They believe that fall is a very active time for loved ones who have passed away and others that are able to transform their bodies to show themselves to their families.
This piece is inspired by my children’s Native American beliefs.
The Shape Shifter is hand sculpted with polymer clay and hand painted with heat set oils. Her hair is hand dyed silk fibers and the eyes are hand painted with eyelashes individually applied. She is wearing a beaded headband and collar and a hand stamped copper bracelet.
If she were standing she would be approximately 17 inches tall, sitting she is 7 inches from the bottom of the base to the top of her head. The base length is approximately 6 inches in length.
