Pepin is part of the The Cirque des Petites Choses (The Circus of Small Things). They did not perform to make people forget life. They performed to help us remember. To remind us that what is fragile, awkward, imperfect, tired, and flawed is still worthy of being seen with tenderness.
They did not announce themselves loudly. They whispered their existence. And so, when the old circus wagon finally stopped its wandering, each of them was placed beneath a glass bell jar; not to confine them, but to keep them safe. The way you protect a memory you’re not ready to let go of.
Disfairy is an Italian sculptor who now lives and works in Spain. Inspired by nature, she creates whimsical textile art creatures by sewing, painting, and working with clay. She includes vintage fabrics, embroidery, and all sorts of itty bitty embellishments and trim bringing these enchanting and very stylish characters to life.
