As a child, I was always playing make-believe and conjuring imaginary characters from found materials. I was fond of science, nature, space and sci-fi movies. My mom would keep and recycle stuff before it was cool and give me empty boxes and other things knowing that I’d make something out of it. One of my favorite manga characters, and later anime, was Doraemon, a cat robot with magical powers from the 22nd century. I still have the little toy with me.
