In the old agricultural traditions of my native Finland, all important work was to be scheduled for the times of the waxing moon, and certain other tasks were listed as never to be performed during the time of the waning moon. Many other cultures also recognize the power and influence of the moon on human activities, finding it vital to pay attention to its cycles.
