When Myrtle sits with her sadness and tea, the little ghost appears. Myrtle whispers softly, and the little shade - sometimes just a shimmer - listens with great interest and infinite patience of the dead.
There is solace here for each of them. When the tea is gone and Myrtle falls quiet, the little ghost will slip away too.
It's their way, these unlikely friends, to comfort and be comforted before a cold winter's night.
