Every animal has its spiritual significance in the magical world, but witches have cats by their sides.

 In medieval European superstition, it was thought that one way to identify if someone was a witch was if they owned a cat. This cat was believed to be some form of demon or evil spirit in disguise, acting as the witch's familiar, her guardian and protector and was aiding her in her spells. 

 How does a witch meet their cat? Well, they just sort of find each other.
